We serve as a vehicle for mental, relational, and professional elevation for Black leaders within community and social impact work as well as the communities they serve.

Our ultimate work is to decolonize what has become known as Community Building by helping leaders of color structure their organizations in a way that will enable them to not only sustain within their work but to thrive in true community with each other.

We are ripping up the roots that no longer serve us, planting new seeds of overall prosperity, and actively creating a revolution by existing as our elevated selves.

Upcoming Workshops

Curated Events

Whether virtual or in person, our events are curated and facilitated as immersive experiences designed to foster meaningful networking, increase access to viable resources all while nurturing holistic wellbeing practices for Black leaders within community and social impact work.

  • Panel discussions, meet and greets, and interactive activities designed to encourage insightful conversations with industry leaders and like-minded professionals in a setting that encourages authentic connections and future collaboration.

  • Immersive multi-day retreats where attendees make space for self care, self discovery, and authentic connections with others. Attendees unwind with curated spa services and amenities, engage in meditative group activities and connect with themselves and others outside of the hustle and bustle of everyday stresses.

  • An annual conference for Black leaders at all levels to exchange ideas, strategies, and lived experiences that will inspire, empower, and fuel change within community and social impact work.

Learning & Development

The resources and support for professional development and capacity building we provide for individuals and organizations centers self care, personal development, and inter-generational coaching while exploring practical approaches to structuring strong organizations.  We support Black leaders by offering the tools and capabilities necessary for building strong teams/tribes that will allow them to expand and more effectively impact their communities. 

  • Offered virtually and in person, our workshops provide attendees with practical and applicable knowledge, tools and skills to increase individual and organizational effectiveness in nonprofit development, leadership, holistic self care and career focused personal development.

  • Our team of experts provide resource and strategy development consultative services to community serving organizations in areas such as board development, the nonprofit structure, community engagement, and people management & talent development to improve the organization’s ability to effectively serve their communities.

  • The New Roots Racial Equity and Inclusion Series seeks to equip nonprofit organizations, working with communities of color, with information and tools to support the process of dismantling racist structures and ideologies within their organizations, for the sake of reducing harm and trauma to the communities of color they serve.

Centering Black Excellence

We believe communities of color have everything needed to heal and rebuild, but have to combat the negative depictions of their circumstances that are a direct result of historic and structural racism. We are excited about creating partnerships that will allow us to elucidate the contributions and strengths of Black people.

Centering Racial Equity

In all aspects of our work, whether it is Event Planning, Organizational Development or Learning & Development, we center the voices and perspectives of Black, Indigenous People of Color and work to minimize harm to communities of color.

Compassionate Accountability

White Supremacy ideals are embedded in every institution and system in our country, which means we are all responsible, in one way or another, for causing harm to BIPOC Communities, knowingly or unknowingly.  We believe holding each other firmly accountable with compassion utilizing caucused spaces.

Authentic Collaboration

We are not interested in helping organizations to simply “box-check”.  We are committed to bringing our knowledge and expertise to spaces that are authentically willing to do the work of addressing deep-rooted issues within communities of color, while examining their role in the perpetuation of these deep-rooted issues. 

Building from Indigenous principles of healing and learning

We are decolonizing what it means to be in community with each other in the following ways:

  • We are intentional about using art (visual, spoken music, etc) of the African Diaspora to facilitate healing and learning.

  • We put in the work to build trust which includes making space for conflict and conflict resolution.

  • Unity not Uniformity or Individuality not Individualism.

  • We believe in intergenerational coaching and connection. If we do not understand our past by connecting with our elders, we are destined to repeat the mistakes that will threaten the future of our children, families and communities.
