Recovering from Overconsumption is a facilitated Suga Sharing Session centered on unlearning the psychological traps of a capitalistic system designed to keep us in cycles of urgency, scarcity, and excess.
As many of us navigate financial strain, government layoffs, funding cuts, and growing economic uncertainty, this session creates space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what we can control—our habits, choices, and relationship to consumption.
This is not a conversation about guilt, restriction, or “doing it perfectly.” It is an invitation to explore how overconsumption shows up in our daily lives, why it can feel so hard to disengage, and how we can begin shifting toward more intentional, values-aligned practices.
During this session, participants will:
Explore how capitalism shapes spending, consumption, and decision-making
Reflect on personal habits without shame or judgment
Learn practical tools to slow down impulse spending and consumption
Identify small, sustainable shifts that support financial and emotional well-being
Discuss how these practices can extend into work, organizing, and community life
This Suga Sharing Session is grounded in care, honesty, and collective wisdom. Come ready to listen, share, and leave with tools you can apply immediately.
✨ Space is intentionally limited to support meaningful conversation.
